Make Money Online – Can I get Payments from Buyers outside GAF?

May be you came to this page directly and you haven’t read old posts in this site. If this is the case then I guess, I will [first of all] tell you what GAF stands for. GAF is a freelance site [Getafreelancer]. Everyone can use this site to get online jobs that can be done via working at home.

If you do not know what freelance sites are and how to use these sites to get online jobs, then I suggest you first read few previous posts in this blog. You will find all the information about freelance sites in this site.

Today I wanted to talk about a very important thing. That is: many new service providers ask the question that whether they can get payment from the buyer outside GAF or not. Simple answer is that this is not a good thing to do. Some people do this to avoid the fee that is deducted from the money that you receive at GAF for every completed project.

Here are few reasons why you should always use GAF to take all the payments from the buyers:

When you complete a project and buyer pay you the money in your GAF account, GAF then charge a small fee on that project. If you completed a project worth $50 and the buyer paid you this money then instead of $50, you will see $45 in your GAF account. This is the fee that GAF charge. Now can you avoid this fee, that is, is there a way to not give this fee to GAF?

Some people say YES: why not tell the buyers to pay you directly [outside GAF]. So in this way you will get the full payment for the work. This really works?

NO: this is not a good thing to do. Most importantly, when you win a project, your GAF account will go in negative balance status [your account will show -$5 if we take the example project which is mentioned above and if this is your first project or your account balance was previously zero]. After 35 days [I think it is 35] of negative balance in your account, GAF will automatically suspend such accounts.
