Just in the last post, I talked about the positive growth of GAF as a top freelance site. Today, I got an email from GAF about the transfer of their site to Plendo Sweden AB.
In the email, GAF stated that, GAF has grown to a large extent.
GAF is no longer a small site: it is now one of the biggest freelance sites on the internet.
GAF has been operated by Innovate It. Gothenburg AB, reg. no. 556572-2401.
GAF had now decided to hand over the freelance business to another company that is totally dedicated to this work.
The reason is that GAF has now grown to a level where it needs a big team to take care of all matters.
Innovate It is a big company that owns: Getafreelancer, Getahelpdesk, Hform, GnetaGalten.se etc.
Freelance market at GAF has grown significantly and that is why, Innovate It has decided to hand over GAF to Plendo Sweden AB, reg. no. 556773-0568.
Plendo Sweden AB is also a Sweden company and Innovate It owns 100% common shares of this company. Meaning that, Plendo Sweden AB is wholly owned subsidiary of Innovate It.
In the email,it was stated that, buyers and service providers do not have to worry about anything. There will be no change in the rules. The term of service will remain the same.
The only change I saw was on the About Getafreelancer page.
The About Getafreelancer page now state that: the site is owned by Plendo Sweden AB.
I guess as a service provider [or a buyer], we do not have to worry about this change.

I’ve missed this e-mail, but if you quoted their explanation accurately it doesn’t make any sense. I mean they didn’t hand over anything to anyone, they just factored out the service into a separate company.
Actually GaF is one of the _worst_ sites out there with lots of low quality (poor requirements, off based budgets and a very high non-action probability) projects and a very arrogant and unhelpful support team. Not to mention the site itself the looks and the functionality is like as if we were still in 1999 or something.
Now I had a look again at their announcement on the GaF site and that doesn’t make sense either. They say: “In order to better serve our customers we are making some important changes to allow continued growth.
Plendo Sweden AB reg. no. 556773-0568 is now a wholly owned subsidiary of GetAFreelancer “
Which looks as if GaF (a non-company!) buyed Plendo, while the truth is probably, as you said, that the GaF service is outsourced into Plendo which is supposed to be a subsidiary of Innovate it.
