I do know quite some information about freelance sites but recently, I discovered a very small info that I did not know about GAF.
This small info is that: if a non gold member wins a featured project, then he does not have to pay any project fee. This is quite good information for new comers and also for me as I did not know about it before and it’s an addition to my freelancing knowledge.
The reason that I never knew about it is that: as a non gold member, I never won any featured projects and that I usually upgraded to gold membership in order to work at GAF.
Gold members do not pay any fee [Update: they now have to pay a small fee], so wining a normal or featured project is same for them.
But for new comers, wining a normal project costs a project fee. Note: They do not have to pay this fee from their own pocket. The fee is deducted from the money which buyers pay after project completion.
So, if you are a non gold member and you are a new comer at GAF: then you should try to place some of your bids on featured projects as if you win one, you will not pay any project fee.
I think this is quite a good thing for service providers at GAF: especially new comers and non gold members.
