First of all: let me tell you what API means and how it will help people who wish to make money online via joining SL affiliate program.
API = Application Programming Interface
API is something that will let other people to get data from SL, easily: and they can effectively/easily connect to SL.
API will allow people to easily get affiliate related content from SL.
Wait: I do like to clarify one thing. Whether it is API or it is RSS: I do not use or will never use in the future: I will not use any of these options to grab content from freelance sites to show it in my own site. Showing the same content that is displayed at other freelance sites will give no useful information to my site’s visitors.
I only add tips and other information about how a person can make money online and I will never show content in my site that is taken from other sites as it is quite meaningless and wrong thing to do for me.
The reason I mentioned this point is that: some people purchase a domain and then they use simple RSS-Feed or API to grab content from different freelance sites in order to refer affiliates. I personally think that these sites give no reason for the users to first visit their site instead of visiting the freelance site where this content/job really is posted.
On the other hand, there are some people who wish to show little project details [taken from freelance site] in their site. And that their own site does provide some good content/tips for the users. So for these people, SL API will definitely help. You will have more options to choose and grabbing project titles/descriptions etc from SL will be easier.
But do remember my suggestion: in your site, give users a very good reason to visit your site first instead of visiting the actual freelance site where you will be referring the users. If your site is not providing any useful content and only contain the project data taken from other freelance sites: then why should a user come to your site? And why should he not directly go to the freelance site from where you have taken the content?
