I recently wrote an article about the exams/certificates which Elance is offering. There are hundreds of available tests at EL and the most amazing thing is that everybody can take these tests for FREE. Yes, it cost no money to take any test/exam at EL.
Unfortunately, at FL, one needs to pay [currently] $5 to take one test. Exams are not offered for free.
I personally think that FL should make them free for everyone as other freelance sites are offering this feature for no money/fee.
There is just one Basic Knowledge exam at FL that we can take for free. In this exam, very basic questions are asked and they test your knowledge about how things work at FL.
I personally only took this basic exam: in my first attempt, I was able to score 95% marks then on the second try, I was able to score 100%.
In the first try, I think the question that I might have answered wrongly was related to Buyers. I have not opened a single job at FL in past 2+ years and lot of things has changed: so any question related to buyers, I might not get it right.
Anyway, I got 100% marks. If you have tried this exam and have scored low: then I will suggest to read FAQs at FL or you can read different articles in our site. You basically need to learn all the basic things about freelancing and about FL.
