Answer: Do I need to have a Credit Card to get a PayPal Account?

As far as I personally know, NO you do not have to have a credit card to get a PayPal account. Having a credit card is good but is not necessary.

I live in a country where PP is not yet supported then how come I know the answer?

Lot of users in this site wanted to know the answer so I did some research and found that users can verify their account either by linking their Bank Account to their PP account or via adding a Credit Card or Debit Card.

If you want to increase the credit limit in your account, then you can consider adding a credit/debit card.

So basically, if you are a freelancer and want to use PayPal to withdraw your money to your bank account, then I guess you do not have to worry about adding any credit card or debit cards.

I saw somewhere that if you want to upgrade your account to Business, then you will need to card a credit/debit card.

The best solution is to go to PayPal website and open an account: you will come to know all the details while registering there : )

I tell people to use PayPal for withdrawing their money from freelancing sites: this is only possible if you have a Bank Account.
