EDIT [26th of August, 2008]: A very sad news. The great Poet, Ahmed Faraz died Yesterday [25th of August, 2008] night. At the very moment [5:52 PM Local Time In Pakistan], Namaz e Janaza of the great poet is held in Islamabad. Ahmed Faraz Died because of kidney problem.
The legendary Poet, Ahmed Faraz has died in USA. Ahmed Faraz was considered as one of the greatest Urdu Poets in the history of Urdu poetry. Ahmed Faraz was born in Nowshera (Pakistan) on 14th of January 1931.
He is considered as good as Faiz Ahmed Faiz.
He was injured in Baltimore (Maryland, USA) when he felt down some stairs. He was then moved to a hospital in Chicago. According to his doctors he had some Kidney problems, Blood Pressure issue and some more other problems.
At the moment, it’s not clear what exactly the reason of his death was but what is clear is that Pakistan has lost one of their greatest Poets.
The news of Ahmed Faraz death was all over Pakistani Media channels like GEO TV, ARY, etc but then these channels announced that Ahmed Faraz has not died but is very ill. According to GEO News the news of Ahmed Faraz death was first publish by the official government NEWS Channel. Then after sometime, these channels once again aired the news of this great poet’s death and this time the news was confirmed.
