I see pages from Wikipedia all over Google search results. Wikipedia is dominating Google’s SERPs.
I guess this is the reason why Google has launched the Beta version of their online encyclopaedia, “KNOL”.
Knol “A Unit of Knowledge” will be a source of articles that are written by different people.
This site is going to compete against the Giant Wikipedia.
Knol is more like an article directory where you will see many different kinds of articles with author pictures. Only the author of an article can edit their articles [update: I think other users can also edit pages: may be it will depend on the author who is adding the content].
In Knol, you can see the name, picture, profile etc of the author and you can also place comments. Sounds like there will be many differences between Knol and wikipedia but the real question is:
Will Google Knol Beat Wikipedia?
