Google Webmaster Groups was a great place to find answers for many questions regarding our sites. I have found some really amazing advice from Google Experts at Google Webmaster Groups.
This was the only place where we webmasters could talk to Google Experts like JohnMu.
Although it was a great place to find help, there were still few things which were not quite right about how things worked there.
For example: if a question is posted at Google Webmaster Groups, then it will remain on top as long as no other questions are posted. So, our questions used to burry deep as the number of questions being asked were too many.
At different discussion forums, questions that are most active, gets on the top.
One more problem with groups(dot)google(dot)com/ was that, if there was a reply to our questions or to our other replies, we were not informed by email.
We had to refresh all the time to check if there was a reply or not.
Few weeks back, Google closed the discussion at groups(dot)google(dot)com/ and opened a new discussion site [forum] google(dot)com/support/forum/p/Webmasters?hl=en.
At this new forum, questions that are most active, more up in the list. This help people to get their problems solved effectively.
Most importantly, we now get an email notification whenever someone replies to our questions or to reply placed by us.
