Why Accountancy?

While considering accountancy as your profession, you would be asking yourself why should you be choosing to get into this profession. What makes it different from other professions and what possibilities are there in the job market.

By choosing accountancy as your profession, you are choosing a career which has always had more demand than supply in terms of job market. In the UK for example 60-65% jobs relate to accountancy and there is always demand for finance professionals.

UK is in a deep recession and more people have lost their jobs than ever but even in this situation, finance professionals are in demand and according to a survey held in the UK, finance jobs are among top five most secured jobs.

The reason being that in these tough times when companies are financially struggling, they need to make financial decisions in order to survive through this phase and who else to get involved in this than finance professionals. And UK is not alone facing bad times.

There is a global crises going on and every region in the world is being affected by this economic crisis. This has lead to an ever increasing global demand for finance professionals.

Finance professionals are considered the backbone of a company and their role revolves around the whole organisation and are active participants in strategic decision making of the company. So being a finance professional, you will be at the centre of an organisation and your work will be relied upon in making strategic decisions.
