What is Odd Lot Market or Odd Lot Order

Note: I have tried to find the best definition for these terms via reading different sources on the internet. I do not make up new definitions: I just search and collect information from different places and combine them and write them in my own words.

Odd Lot or Odd Lot Order:

Odd lot is defined as buying/selling shares in amount which is less than 100 shares. That is: if I buy/sell less than 100 shares in the stock market, then that will be called odd lot trading.

Odd lot order will be any buying/selling order where less than 100 shares are bought/sold.

I also found some sites where the definition was little different. According to that definition, odd lot order is where the number of shares sold/bought is divisible by hundred. That is: 100, 200, 300… all these numbers are divisible by 100 and so these are odd lot orders.

Odd Lot Market:

Odd Lot Market is a market where Odd Lot Orders take place. All Odd Lot Trades have a record in the Odd Lot Market
