Recently, I wrote about the maximum number of URLs or the maximum file size that is allowed by Google for submitted sitemaps. After posting it: I did some more research about this topic and found on [Sitemaps(dot)org] that the values which I wrote in that post are actually the standard size for a sitemap defined by Sitemaps(dot)org.
The values are:
Maximum number of URLs supported in a single sitemap = 50,000
Maximum allowed size of sitemaps = 10 MB [this is the uncompressed file size]
So these are the standard values which are used by all Search Engines.
