Like the name suggests: this code tells about the purpose for which you are using PP. Your purpose of using PP is: getting money for the goods/services you sell? Just like that, there are other purposes for which one may use PP.
A purpose code is a combination of five characters. First character is letter P then other 4 characters are numeric figures.
