DomainTools dot com provides some really good online tools. I personally use their Whois lookup search almost every day.
Why do I need to use it every day? : )
Well because I participate in Google and Bing forums and quite often, I need to check how old a site is or when it was registered. For this purpose, I use the Whois tool which is provided by this site.
This site’s uptime is pretty impressive. I only had some issues with this site once this month and I also got an email from the official site about some issues in their servers.
Their tool was not working for sometime on 10th of June 2010.
If you are not a registered user at DomainTools then you would have not got the email in which it is mentioned that during their scheduled maintenance, some problem occurred which caused different problems for the users.
The email mentioned that the staff has taken care of the issue and that in the future, the chances of such problem to arise again have been reduced.
Their tools are back online and are working perfectly.
