Recently, I checked for any Firefox updates and found one [I check for updates manually via clicking on Help and then on Check for Updates].
I clicked to update: first Firefox promoted to download the complete update/package as the partial package could not be installed. Size of the complete package was around 10 MB.
After that, when the progress bar reached the end, it kind of got stuck there. Nothing was happening after that: I waited for some time and then tried to search for other people who may have faced any similar issues. It was not long before I found that many other users were facing the same problem.
So instead of searching more for a solution to how this automatic update can complete, I simply downloaded the latest Firefox : )
Running the setup simply updated my Firefox installation without any issue.
