I recently found that *Bing-Forum [*BF] has lot of coding errors. There are multiple head sections in every page of *BF. Along with the head sections, there are other tags too which are multiple in numbers.
I believe that one page can only have one head, title etc tags: but *BF currently has several of these tags.
Multiple tags create different problems. One main issue is that when you search for threads within Bing Forum, you will see the same title for all the threads in the search results. This makes things difficult for users.
If all threads show this title “Bing Community”, then how will you need the information/thread that you are looking for?
Title tag is a very important component in search engine optimization. This element helps both the search engines and the users:
Good title tag means that people will easily find-out, what they can expect to see on the page and search engine can use the content of this tag to find-out, what is this page all about.
Unfortunately, *BF has multiple title tags: the second tag contains the thread heading/title, which I believe, is the correct content for the *title-tag [*TT]:
But the first *TT contains different content: which is: “Bing Community”: and this tag [ and its content] is found on all the threads/pages.
If you search for threads/information within *BF or in Bing search engine, you will just see the same title for all pages. This is very frustrating and disappointing as it’s the official forum of one of top search engines and this forum contains some major coding errors that are creating difficulties for users/visitors.
I have posted this information in the official Bing Forum and Brett [Bing Employee] replied in that thread: so I guess we will see this issue being corrected any time soon.
