*BF does have a Search Feature but it is kind of hidden. One has to click on a link, to see the search box. This is certainly not good: the search box should be clearly visible: preferably, it should be at the top of all pages.
Many of the new comers who come to Bing Forum don’t like to use the search feature to get answers to their questions. May be because they simply don’t like to read much : )
In searching, one needs to spend some time and effort in order to get answers but many new comers just want to get straight forward answers to their questions.
Even if the search feature is clearly visible [which is the case in Google Forums], many people still ask very basic questions: if they use the search feature, they could get answer in just few minutes or seconds: but they prefer to ignore the *search-feature [*SF] : )
So if at Google Forums, we see the problem of people asking common questions all the time, even that the search box at this forum is clearly visible on all pages: then you can imagine what will be happening at Bing Forum : )
Anyway, the best thing that can be done is to put the *SF visible on all pages. Even in the threads: that way, we can hope to see less common questions asked over and over again.
At Bing the first problem is that there is no search box anywhere. On the top left corner, you can see a link that says: “find-content-in-Bing-community”: clicking on this link will show the search box.
Secondly, this link is not available in Threads.
Bing should put a bigger search box on all pages of their forum: plus this box needs to be clearly visible: and it will be nice to add a notice/alert along with this box that says something like this: “Search Before You Open New Threads” : )
