Bing has an official forum that you can find here:
bing (dot) com/community/forums/default.aspx?GroupID=11
There are actually many different forums: the link above is of Bing Webmaster Forum. I usually participate in this forum only.
First, it was MSN Search then it became Live and now it is Bing. Some people believe that this search engine is not improving at a good pace. Same can be said for *Bing-Forums [*BFs].
There are many problems/issues in *BFs and the rate, at which these issues are resolved, is quite slow.
Here are few of the known issues:
Wrong Navigation Labels:
I was browsing the threads in a section of Bing Forum when I noticed that in order to see the older threads: Bing has two links with these labels:
Newer
Newest
Bing also has few page numbers that we can use to jump to certain page-index. The problem I saw was that: to see the old threads, Bing label said “Newer or Newest” instead of “older or oldest”.
This is not a big problem but it certainly is not ok to see such mistake at Bing official forum.
I also had posted a thread in *BF about this issue. After posting it, I found that this problem and many other problems were already pointed out in a thread by another member: Archie.
Anyway, after few days, we started to see the proper navigation headings. This problem was solved relatively faster.
Here are few of the other issues:
Bing Forum has some Major Coding Errors
Does Bing Forum have a Search Feature?
After Posting a Reply, Bing Forum Thread Navigation does not Work
Bing Forum Moderation Queue Message
Bing Forum needs some more Moderators/Administrators
In threads where there are many replies and they are divided into multiple internal pages: when you click on, for example, the second pagination link, you are suppose to see the original poster question on the top right?
I have noticed that in some of the threads, the original poster’s reply is not shown on the top.
When you want to reply to a thread with paginations links, you may want to view the main question and it is frustrating to not see the original question at the top in some of the threads. I am not sure why this happens.
At Google Forums, all threads where you reply: you can choose to get a notification via email. I think this is a superb feature.
In Bing Forums, I have no idea how the email notification works. I first had the email notification set to send me all alerts, it worked for sometime then I stopped to receive any more emails. Then after few weeks, it started to work again.
Also, Bing seems to send alerts for everything: when you post a reply, Bing even sends that alert to your email address : )
I also have seen some people who complained that they are receiving the emails even that they have disabled the option of getting alerts in their profile.
Bing officials have said that major changes will be made in the forum soon: let’s wait and see how the new BF will look like : ) And let us hope that these issues will be resolved in this update:
