If you do not install any third part tool in your PC and attach a second monitor then things will not look good. Your second monitor will not show the taskbar and it will be of no good use. [I am using WIN 7]
You need to install a third party software to get all the functions/features for the second monitor. Only attaching a new/2nd LCD will not do the trick : )
There are many tools available: some are free where some are shareware.
I have personally used, almost, all of the top products and in the end, I found the best one.
The tool I am talking about is called Actual Multiple Monitors. It is not free but its price is reasonable. This tool does have a free version but it gives you only limited features.
For me, a dual system without this software’s full version is useless : ) Unless you do not need a second start menu button, taskbar and other such features…
Bottom-line: Actual Multiple Monitors give you the option to get a separate taskbar/screen-saver/wallpaper etc on the 2nd monitor.
