Have you mistakenly added a wrong spelled word in Firefox dictionary?
Now Firefox does not show a Red Underline indicating that this spelling is wrong and you can also not right click on the word to see suggestions about the correct spelling?
Here is how you can remove such words from Firefox dictionary.
[I am using Windows 7]
Open My Computer and then open the drive where Windows is installed. Usually it’s the C: drive.
Now open Users folder and then click on your Username. Now open the following folders:
Application Data > Mozilla > Firefox > Profiles >
Here you may see one or more profiles. Open the one which is in use. If you don’t know which profile is being used, then simply open the first folder and follow the next steps.
Inside the profile folder, you will see this file:
persdict.dat
Right click on this file and select to open it with Notepad. Inside you will find all the Words that you have added in Firefox Dictionary.
Simply remove the word that you mistakenly added, and save the file. Now you may need to restart Firefox.
If you have multiple profiles in the Profiles Folder AND you are unable to find the wrong spelled word inside persdict.dat file, then go here again:
Application Data > Mozilla > Firefox > Profiles >
And open the second profile. If you have more than 2 profiles, then open each one and look for the misspelled word in persdict.dat.
